Endowed Funds
Endowed funds are invested in perpetuity and grants are made from the income earned on the endowment. The SCF currently has six named Endowed Funds:
- Squamish Community Fund:
- This fund was created by the Board of the Squamish Community Foundation with contributions from the Founders Circle. The income from the fund will be used to make grants for general charitable purposes.
- Communities That Care - Squamish Endowment Fund:
- This fund was created by the District of Squamish to create a sustainable source of funding for the prevention activities of the organization. The income from the fund is administered by Sea to Sky Community Services Society who is the host agency for Communities That Care-Squamish.
- Robert W. McIntosh Scholarship Fund:
- This fund was created by friends and family in memory of Bob McIntosh who died December 31, 1997. Scholarships are awarded to a graduating student in Squamish who intends to continue their education and demonstrates proficiency in all areas of scholarship, athletics and citizenship. An advisory committee reviews grants requests from secondary school students annually.
- Valhalla Fund:
- Created by the owner of Valhalla Pure Outfitters, this fund will support capital projects which benefit outdoor recreation, the environment, and the arts & culture.
- Lloyd and Leona Ingraham
- Ray Peters Fund
- This fund was established in 2006 in memory of Ray Peters, community member and resident of Squamish for many years, whose dedication to the establishment of a trail network throughout the community of Squamish for all its residents is revered. Funds generated support the further development and maintenance of this trail network as well as support the sponsorship of a scholarship for a student of the Don Ross Secondary School's Outdoor Leadership Program, another program that Ray supported.
- The Grimace Fund
- This fund was established in 2005 by McDonald's Restaurant of Squamish and then owners, Jens and Mary Rolinski, with the proceeds going to support programs, projects, and services dedicated to families, children, and youth in the community.
