Community Enhancement Grants

Supporting projects that strengthen Squamish through local leadership, community partnerships, and lasting impact.

The District of Squamish’s Community Enhancement Grant Program provides funding to eligible non-profit and charitable organizations for projects and initiatives that enhance community wellbeing. Administered by the Squamish Community Foundation on behalf of Council, these grants support programs that help build a more Liveable, Healthy, Engaged, Connected, and Resilient Squamish.

About Community Enhancement Grants

 

The next intake for 2027 Community Enhancement Grants will open in Fall 2026.

The District of Squamish partners with two local organizations to administer its Community Grant Programs. The Squamish Community Foundation administers the Community Enhancement Grants, while the Squamish Arts Council administers grants that support arts and culture initiatives.

Community Enhancement Grants provide funding to eligible non-profit and charitable organizations for projects, programs, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for Squamish residents. The program supports the District of Squamish Official Community Plan by investing in initiatives that help build a more Liveable, Healthy, Engaged, Connected, and Resilient community.

Funding will be awarded to nonprofit or charitable organizations that propose to enhance the lives of local citizens through the following: 

 

  • Decolonization and reconciliation initiatives
  • Community and neighbourhood events
  • Intergenerational programming
  • Enhancement of neighbourhood connectivity
  • Environmental stewardship, sustainability and/or climate action
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programming
  • Support of physical health, mental health and/or social wellbeing
  • Youth-led initiatives
  • Programming for social services that assist Squamish’s vulnerable populations
  • Recreation programming

For projects with an arts and/or culture focus, please refer to the Arts & Culture Grant provided by the Squamish Arts Council. Please note that you can only receive funding from either the Squamish Arts Council’s Arts and Culture Grant OR the Squamish Community Foundation’s Community Enhancement Grant. If you believe that your project could feasibly apply to both, please email info@squamishartscouncil.com or info@squamishfoundation.com to determine which grant you should apply to.
